Some Christians prone to look on the dark side of everything.

They tend to dwell on what they have gone through than cast their eyes upon what the Lord has done for them.

If you will to ask some Christians about their christian walk.  They

will relate to you their continual conflicts, their deep afflictions,

their adversities.  They never talk about the mercy and help which God has vouchsafed them.

However, a healthy Christian will joyously give thanks and honor to the Lord at all times.  He/she will tell you that the Lord drew him/her up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog and set his/her feet upon a rock, making his/her steps secure. He put a new song in his/her mouth, a song of praise unto our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord. The Lord hath done great things for him/her.

We must not forget that even if we endure trials, we are delivered out of them.  We have an all-sufficient Savior who can give us grace to overcome our bad habits and deliver us from their dominion.  Thanks to our Almighty God!

We must not let our griefs to mar the melody of our praise, for the Lord had done great things for us.

Pray that God the Holy Spirit would do a powerful and wonderful work in us through his mighty power, filling us with the fullness of God.

We must not neglect our prayer life and devotion time with the Lord.

Do not forsake our assembling together.  All ordinances must

not be slighted also.

Don’t look to the bigness of your need, but look to the bigness of your God!

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. “Lo, I am with you always ” He says.

Christ is the One who is forever the same, and who is forever with us.

Take heed! Do not set your affections upon rusting, moth-eaten,

decaying treasures, but set your heart upon Christ who abides for ever

with you and is faithful to you.

Do not build your house upon the moving quicksand of this deceitful world, but build your house and found your hopes upon this rock (Christ) only, which even though torrential rain and roaring floods may come, this rock(Christ) shall stand immovably secure.

Put your all and all in Christ only! Set all your affections on Him only! trust in his efficacious blood which was shed for you, all your joy is in his presence which can make you laugh even at times of loss, and can also defy destruction also.

Set your heart on Christ who will never leave you, trust yourself completely on him because he will go with you through the black and surging current of death’s stream, he will land you safely on the shore in the heaven and make you sit with Him in the heavenly places forever and ever!

You can tell your secrets to this true friend of yours who stick closer to you than your own brother. He will never leave you and He will never let you leave him also.

Soul-winning is indeed a thrilling work, but it brings us into a direct conflict with Satan and the powers of darkness because every soul won for Christ is a soul snatched out of the hand of Satan or out from the kingdom of darkness. This will anger Satan and it will cause him to war against us.

A Christian life is a life which involves spiritual warfare. Two kingdoms, the kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Satan are always at war. The battle is fighting for the souls of men.

We are the soldiers that God can use in the battle against Satan.

We use spiritual weapons in the warfare against Satan. The greatest weapon that God has given us is prayer because prayer releases God’s power. When we pray, God starts to work!

The Bible tells us,

“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” (Jeremiah 33:3)

So, we must always pray! A Christian life must not be without prayer. We commune with God through our prayers, it is through prayer that we can get all the things we want. We intercede for others through our prayers, and it is also through prayers that we are able to bind the power of Satan and darkness away from us.

How are we going to deal with the Flesh in our own lives?

Before you become a christian, you tend to treat others as they treat you. If they scold you, you scold back, if they steal, you steal back; if they fight, you fight back; if they slander, you slander back, if they lose their temper, you also lose your temper. In other words, you dealt with the flesh in order to get even.

However, now you are a Christian, you cannot gratify your fleshy desires anymore, but to deal with the flesh by the help of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible teaches us to love one another, to love those we hate us or scold us or do any harm to us and we are to speak the truth in love. You cannot speak the truth without love, neither can you not speaking the truth but pretending that you are loving.

We have to speak the truth in love always, learn to love our neighbours and those we do not like us. If we do this, we will definitely become a witness for Christ, a living testimony! However, if we speak the truth without love, we are simply manifesting the flesh and our witness will be ineffective and unable to draw people to Christ.

To deal with our flesh, we may need to separate ourselves from fleshly friends, colleagues, business associates, non-believers etc. We are not to be unequally yoked together with these people, those who are carnal minded, because they have far-reaching results upon our spiritual lives. As a true Christian, you are to operate in the Spirit and wait on the Lord regarding all issues in your life so that He is able to make your path straight for you.
