Some Christians prone to look on the dark side of everything.

They tend to dwell on what they have gone through than cast their eyes upon what the Lord has done for them.

If you will to ask some Christians about their christian walk.  They

will relate to you their continual conflicts, their deep afflictions,

their adversities.  They never talk about the mercy and help which God has vouchsafed them.

However, a healthy Christian will joyously give thanks and honor to the Lord at all times.  He/she will tell you that the Lord drew him/her up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog and set his/her feet upon a rock, making his/her steps secure. He put a new song in his/her mouth, a song of praise unto our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord. The Lord hath done great things for him/her.

We must not forget that even if we endure trials, we are delivered out of them.  We have an all-sufficient Savior who can give us grace to overcome our bad habits and deliver us from their dominion.  Thanks to our Almighty God!

We must not let our griefs to mar the melody of our praise, for the Lord had done great things for us.

Pray that God the Holy Spirit would do a powerful and wonderful work in us through his mighty power, filling us with the fullness of God.

We must not neglect our prayer life and devotion time with the Lord.

Do not forsake our assembling together.  All ordinances must

not be slighted also.

Don’t look to the bigness of your need, but look to the bigness of your God!

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. “Lo, I am with you always ” He says.

Christ is the One who is forever the same, and who is forever with us.

Take heed! Do not set your affections upon rusting, moth-eaten,

decaying treasures, but set your heart upon Christ who abides for ever

with you and is faithful to you.

Do not build your house upon the moving quicksand of this deceitful world, but build your house and found your hopes upon this rock (Christ) only, which even though torrential rain and roaring floods may come, this rock(Christ) shall stand immovably secure.

Put your all and all in Christ only! Set all your affections on Him only! trust in his efficacious blood which was shed for you, all your joy is in his presence which can make you laugh even at times of loss, and can also defy destruction also.

Set your heart on Christ who will never leave you, trust yourself completely on him because he will go with you through the black and surging current of death’s stream, he will land you safely on the shore in the heaven and make you sit with Him in the heavenly places forever and ever!

You can tell your secrets to this true friend of yours who stick closer to you than your own brother. He will never leave you and He will never let you leave him also.

But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing. (James 1:25)

Devotional hours are defined as setting apart a certain period of our time, to spend and dwell in God’s presence only, through prayers, reading the Bible and waiting upon the Lord. Your devotional time with God should be placed first in your routine daily schedule because :-

A. We are created to fellowship with God.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him (Genesis 1:27, 2:7,3:8)

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me

(Revelation 3:20)

B. Due to Jesus’s death, our relationship with God is restored

God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (Revelation 3:20)

C. God is the source where Jesus drew His strength from when he is alone with Him.

he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.

(Mark 1:35, Luke22:39, Luke5:16)

Faithful servants of God like Abraham, Moses, David, Daniel and Paul

always spend time to fellowship with the Lord.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness. (Psalm 29:2)

And every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with all his heart, and prospered.. (Revelation4:11)

But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. (John 4:23)

Two things you can do during your devotional hours

1. Ponder on your own path

Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. (Psalm 25:4)

Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. (Proverb 4:26)

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverb 3:6)
